Welcome to Signature Stitches!
Carol Nunley and Korene Lawton, a mother and daughter, in Bridgeport, Connecticut, started this venture. Carol became interested in quilting and took an extensive course in Wisconsin during 2007. She began with colorful lap quilts and moved on to tasteful totes. Carol later encouraged Korene to design and sew.
The team’s first project was a pair of Christmas stockings for Korene’s two babies, Arin and Andres. As their skills and confidence developed, they created comforters for the kids and dresses for Arin. Having an entrepreneurial spirit but little formal business training, the women took every opportunity to learn about running an enterprise. After much tenacity and hours in the studio, the two formed Signature Stitches.
The official launch was in October of 2008. The company is a stylish, contemporary brand with a traditional sensibility. Through personally-inspired designs, the women seek to transport you to a world brimming with whimsical quilts, joyful dolls, unconventional fabric posters, chic bags and an abundance of accessories for you, your home and loved ones.
